Witch Casket Review – The Black Cat Tarot – by Helena de Almeida

The Black Cat tarot is a stylish and contemporary deck, which is faithful to the traditional Rider Waite Smith deck. 🖤

This is a standard tarot deck – with the four suits represented as follows:

  • Pentacles
  • Wands
  • Swords
  • Cups

Because this deck is inspired by the traditional decks, it makes this an easy deck to read for those familiar with the classic decks. The art style is both slick and utterly adorable! It has stunning, playful imagery, which manages to be elegant AND cute at the same time! The artist has chosen a limited colour palette of black, white, and gold, and the gold borders are gilt which gives the deck a classy and expensive look. 💫

The cards are slightly wider than standard tarot cards, but are of a nice medium-quality card stock which makes them flexible and easy to handle. The matt finish means they don’t slide around when shuffled.

The cards are presented in a very durable box which will certainly protect your deck from any knocks when taking it out and about. ✨

This is such a modern-feeling deck, which still manages to retain the tarot traditions and is a very easy deck to work with. The artwork manages to make the black cat theme work while still leaving us with a high-end tarot deck. Congratulations to Helena on creating such a magickal deck!
