The Mystic Mondays deck is fresh and vibrant and full of life! This is a million miles away from the decks I’m generally drawn to with its modern, minimalist style, but I think the modern witch might find this deck easier to connect with than the more antiquated decks, and I really wanted to check it out. ✨
This is a standard 78 card tarot deck – with the four suits you’d expect from a standard Rider Waite deck:
- Cups
- Wands
- Pentacles
- Swords
The artwork is full of primary colours, geometry, animals, and faceless figures. The card stock is a good quality, and the holographic edging is classy and modern – though I am not yet sure how this deck will wear, since it’s still a relatively new deck for me.
The deck is presented in a beautiful box with a decent guidebook to walk you through the meaning of each card – and the creator wants your intuition to be your guide, so there is no right or wrong way to read this deck, it was made to be read instinctively. 🙌
Grace Duong has really tried to redefine how a tarot deck should look; but she has done so while still maintaining the integrity of the tarot tradition – so while this deck seems a little frivolous and light-hearted, it doesn’t completely abandon the traditional deck, and that means it’s a good fit for ‘old-school’ and modern readers. ❤️
